Solution

The correct option is C A-iii, B-i, C-iv, D-ii
Avery, McLeod, and McCarty in 1944 repeated the Griffth experiment in vitro to identify the biochemical nature of transforming substance. They proved that this transforming substance is DNA.
In 1928 S.F. Griffith conducted the transforming experiment. However, the biochemical nature of the genetic material was not defined from his experiment.
Watson and Crick first proposed the semiconservative model of DNA replication. This model was later on experimentally proved by Meselson and Stahl on E-Coli.
Hershey and Chase in 1952 experimented and concluded that that DNA is genetic material that is passed from virus to bacteria.
