Match the columns for constellations against the number of prominent stars:

Open in App
Solution

Ursa major has 7 prominent stars. Orion has 7 or 8 Casiopeia has 5 and Leo major has 9 prominent stars. The stars that shine brightly and make the constellation distinctively visible are called prominent stars of a constellation. The other stars of the constellation are also present but however they are not bright enough to be visible by the naked eye. Hence those prominent stars are used to mark a constellation.
