Paramecium is a single celled organism. Paramecium has tiny hair-like structures called as cilia, all over the cell surface, which help in its movement. Paramecium has trichocyst, a structure in the cortex of their cilia consisting of a cavity and long, thin threads that can be ejected in response to certain stimuli.
Plasmodium falciparum is the Plasmodium species. It is a protozoan parasite. It requires human as a host to complete its life cycle. Plasmodium falciparum causes malaria in humans. It is transmitted by the female Anopheles mosquito. Malaria caused by this species (also called as malignant or falciparum malaria) is the most dangerous form of malaria. It is the deadliest parasitic disease killing over one million people each year.
Entamoebacoli are single-celled parasites that generally considered as non-pathogenic. They reside in the large intestine of a human host. Both cysts and trophozoites of these species are passed in stool and considered diagnostic.
Dumdum fever, also called as Kala-azar, is a chronic, potential fatal parasitic disease of the internal organs. It caused by the infection of Leishmania donovani. Leishmania donovani is transmitted by the sand fly bites.The infection can cause fever, loss of appetite anorexia, fatigue, enlargement of the liver, spleen and nodes and suppression of the bone marrow.
