"Rhinitis" - It is categorized into three types:
(i) 'Infective rhinitis', includes acute and chronic bacterial infections.
(ii) 'Nonallergic rhinitis', includes autonomic, hormonal, drug-induced, atrophic and gustatory rhinitis, as well as rhinitis medicamentosa.
(iii) 'Allergic rhinitis' or 'Hay Fever', is caused by an allergic response to airborne substances, such as pollen, mold, animal dander, dust, Balsam of Peru and other similar inhaled allergens. It is a common condition that shows signs and symptoms similar to a cold with sneezing, congestion, runny nose and sinus pressures.
"Stenosis" - It is an abnormal narrowing in a blood vessel or other tubular organ or structure. In stenosis of a valve, the valve doesn't open properly. The flaps of a valve thicken, stiffen or fuse together. As a result, the valve cannot fully open. Thus, the heart has to work harder to pump blood through the valve, and the body may suffer from a reduced supply of oxygen. The types of stenosis in heart valves are:
1. Pulmonary valve stenosis, which is the thickening of the pulmonary valve, therefore causing narrowing.
2. Mitral stenosis, which is the thickening of the mitral valve (of the left heart), therefore causing narrowing.
3. Tricuspid valve stenosis, which is the thickening of the tricuspid valve (of the right heart), therefore causing narrowing.
4. Aortic valve stenosis, which is the thickening of the aortic valve, therefore causing narrowing.
"Parkinson's disease" - Parkinson's disease (PD, also known as paralysis agitans) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease result from the death of dopamine-generating cells; the cause of this cell death is unknown. Without dopamine, the cells that control movement cannot send messages to the muscles. This makes it hard to control the muscles. Early in the course of the disease, the most obvious symptoms are movement-related; these include shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement and difficulty with walking and gait. Slowly, over time, this damage gets worse. Later, paralysis of complete body, thinking and behavioural problems may arise, with dementia commonly occurring in the advanced stages of the disease, whereas depression is the most common psychiatric symptom. Other symptoms include sensory, sleep and emotional problems. Parkinson's disease is more common in older people, with most cases occurring after the age of 50.
"Coronary thrombosis" - Coronary thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel of the heart due to various factors including pollution. This blood clot restricts blood flow within the heart. It is associated with narrowing of blood vessels subsequent to clotting. The condition is considered as a type of ischaemic heart disease. Thrombosis in the heart can lead to a myocardial infarction.
