(A) Benzaldehyde C6H5CHO gives precipitate with 2, 4-dinitrophenylhydrazine.
It forms a hydrazone derivative. Benzaldehyde gives precipitate with AgNO3. Benzaldehyde is involved in cyanohydrin formation. These are characteristic of aldehyde group CHO group.
(B) Propyne CH3CCH gives precipitate with AgNO3.
(C) Cyanide ion CN gives precipitate with AgNO3. It is a nucleophie. It is involved in cyanohydrin formation.
(D) Iodide ion I gives precipitate with AgNO3. It is a nucleophie.
