Solution

Ladenburg prism formula: A three dimensional structure having prism nature. The formula fails
on account of reduction and addition reaction, X-ray analysis later on also confirmed that C6H6 has planer structure (image 1)

Clause diagonal formula: Each carbon is linked to three other carbon atomes i e. two neighbours and one diagonally opposite. (image 2)
This formula also fails on account of reduction and addition reactions.

Dewar's parallel formula: It consists of parabola structure. It fails on account of unsymmetrical nature and different bond lengths in benzene. (each CC bond in C6H6 is 1.40˚A) (image 3)

Armstrong and Beyer's formula : The centric formula proposed by Armstrong and Baeyer
suggest that fourth valence of each carbon atom is directed towards centre. It failed
on account of modern concept of valence which does not suggest any concept for
centrally directed valence. (image 4)
