River originates in Multhan Tehsil in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
The Harike headworks feeds water to the Rajasthan feeder canal, also known as the Indira Gandhi Canal. This canal carries water down to Rajasthan, providing water primarily for drinking and irrigation purposes.
The main tributary for the Ravi is the Ujjh River of Kathua district in Jammu & Kashmir. It rises from the Domal Structure of Seojdhar of the Middle Himalayan Ranges.
The Ravi joins the Chenab at Bahawalpur after entering Pakistan.
