Solution

The 19th century saw the growth of democracy after the First World War, but two other ideologies developed at the same time. These ideologies were Nazism and Fascism. Italy saw the rise of Fascist rule under Mussolini, while Germany witnessed the growth of Nazism under Adolf Hitler. These ideologies were authoritarian and totalitarian in nature. However, these regimes collapsed at the end of the Second World War in 1945.
