(A) Boiling point of pure water- (I) 100°C

  • The temperature at which a liquid starts converting into its vapor state on heating is called the boiling point of the liquid.
  • For water, the boiling point is 100°C.
  • On heating to 100°C, water starts boiling and forms steam (water vapor).

(B) Temperature of maximum density of water- (II) 4°C

  • The density of water is the mass of water per unit volume.
  • Water has a unique property such that, it has maximum density at 4°C. Density increases from 0°C to 4°C and then again decreases after 4°C.

(C) Latent heat of fusion- (III) 336 J/g

  • Latent heat is the heat required to change the state of a substance, without any temperature change.
  • Latent heat of fusion is the amount of heat required in Joules to convert 1 Kilogram of solid to liquid without any change in the temperature.
