Divisibility rule for 11 : If the difference of the sum of odd digits and the sum of even digits of the number is either 0 or a multiple of 11, then the number is divisible by 11.
In 1331, sum of odd places is 1+3 and sum of even places is also 1+3. Their difference is 4-4 =0 . Hence 1331 is divisible by 11.
