The river Satluj originates on the north slope of the Himalayas in Lake La’nga in southwestern Tibet. The Bhakra Nangal Dam in Bhakra is built on the Satluj. It is also the highest dam in India. The Satluj meets the Beas river at Harike. The Soan, along with Kali Bein and the Beas are tributaries of the Satluj.
