The correct option is D i-3, ii-1, iii-2
In plants, glucose is obtained from sucrose or from storage carbohydrates like starch. This sucrose is broken down into fructose and glucose with the help of invertase enzyme. Both these molecules (glucose and fructose) enter the glycolysis pathway in which glucose is broken down into pyruvic acid. Glucose, as well as fructose, undergo phosphorylation i.e., addition of phosphate group with the help of hexokinase enzyme during the process of glycolysis.
The penultimate step in glycolysis is the conversion of 2-phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate with the help of the enzyme enolase. Water molecule is realeased during this step.
