The following are the positions of image with respect to the positions of object, in case of a biconvex lens:
When the object is at infinity on one side of the lens, the image is formed at the focus (F), on the other side of the lens.
When the object is somewhere beyond the centre of curvature (C) on one side of the lens, the image is formed between C and F, on the other side of the lens.
When the object is between C and F on one side of the lens, the image is formed somewhere beyond C, on the other side of the lens.
When the object is at F on one side of the lens, the image is formed at infinity, on the other side of the lens.
