Food security is a situation where all people at all times have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their food preferences and dietary needs for an active and healthy life. Food security has 3 dimensions: availability, accessibility, and affordability.
Availability of food signifies that enough food is available for everyone in a country. Accessibility refers to a situation where there is no barrier to accessing food. Affordability means that people have the capacity to buy food of acceptable quality.
