Aldosteronism is a condition in which there is excessive secretion of aldosterone, which disturbs the balance of sodium, potassium and water in the blood and thus leads to high blood pressure (hypertension).
Cushing's syndrome occurs when the body is exposed to high levels of the hormone cortisol for a long time. Symptoms involve hyperglycaemia, high sodium and potassium levels in the blood, increased blood volume and hypertension. patients have thin limbs and obese trunk.
The adrenal gland is damaged in Addison's disease, so it does not produce enough cortisol or aldosterone. It results in increase in the melanin levels, resulting in hyperpigmentation.
