If the net force acting on a body is zero, then the body is said to be in translational equilibrium. In such a case, the centre of mass of the body remains either at rest or moves rectilinearly with constant velocity. For a body to be in rotational equilibrium, it either remains at rest or rotates with constant angular velocity. Static equilibrium is defined as a state where a body is not moving in any way- neither rotating nor translating.
