Rolling a die once is a trial. Because, as we know, doing an experiment once is called a trial.


{1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} is the set of all possible outcomes of the experiment.
{1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} is the sample space


As rolling an even number, {2, 4, 6}, is the smaller part of the sample space, it is an event.


{1, 3, 5} is the smaller part of sample space. {1, 3, 5} are the favorable outcomes of an event of rolling an odd number.
