i. Operation Infinite Reach------------> c. Missile attack in Sudan

It was an important military operation during Clinton’s presidency in response to the bombing of the US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in 1998 by suspected Al-Qaeda groups. The operation involved missile attacks on Al-Qaeda terrorist targets in Sudan and Afghanistan.

ii. Operation Enduring Freedom-------> a. War against Al-Qaeda and Taliban

In response to the 9/11 attack that not only shook the US but the entire world, the then US President, George W. Bush, waged a global war on terror and launched the Operation Enduring Freedom against the Al-Qaeda and Taliban regime in Afghanistan, which began in October 2001.

iii. Operation Desert Storm --------------> d. First Gulf War

It was a major coalition of 34 countries against Iraq in response to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in the year 1991. It involved a series of aerial bombarding followed by ground attacks. The Iraq forces were defeated and withdrew from Kuwait.

iv. Operation Iraqi Freedom-------------> b. Coalition of the willing

It was the name given by the US to free the people of Iraq from the autocratic clutches of Saddam Hussain and to prevent Iraq from developing weapons of mass destruction. The operation also aimed at targeting Al-Qaeda centres operating in Iraq after the 9/11 attacks. The operation was launched in the year 2003 and was not sanctioned by the UN.
