Acid reflux is also known as acid indigestion. It is a condition in which the stomach acid (HCl) flows back into the food pipe. It can be neutralised by taking antacids like milk of magnesia
(Mg(OH)2), which forms magnesium chloride
(MgCl)2 and water
(H2O).
A wasp sting is alkaline in nature as it injects a highly basic substance, i.e. Melittin which can be neutralised by using a weak acid such as vinegar or lemon juice.
A bee sting is acidic in nature as it injects formic acid, (or methanoic acid) which can be neutralised by applying calamine lotion or baking soda solution.
