Solution

The correct option is C a(iv)., b(v)., c(ii)., d(iii)
Nephron is the basic functional unit of kidneys that consists of a glomerulus and its associated tubules through which the glomerular filtrate passes before it emerges as urine.

The urine formation includes three steps:
  • Ultrafiltration
  • Reabsorption
  • Tubular secretion
(a) Ultrafiltration - Bowman’s capsule along with glomerulus (network of blood capillaries) is called the Malpighian body or renal corpuscle. Ultrafiltration occurs at the barrier between the blood and the filtrate in the Bowman's capsule in the kidneys.

(b) Concentration of urine - The Henle's loop along with vasa recta plays a significant role in the concentration of urine.

(c and d) Transport of urine - Ureter is the duct by which urine passes from the kidney to the urinary bladder (where it is stored - allowing urination to be infrequent and controlled).
