Kidneys help in excretion of urea. If it does not function properly, urea might accumulate in the blood causing uremia.
Kidney stones, also called renal calculi might be formed due to deposition of crystallised salts like calcium oxalate. These salts can block the passage of urine.
Inflammation of kidneys may be due to bacterial infections. This is called nephritis and leads to its malfunctioning.
