Solution

The correct option is B A-III B-IV C-I D-II
  • Hyperthyroidism - Hyperthyroidism is defined as a condition of overproduction of the thyroid hormones T3 or T4 or both. Thyroid hormones control the rate of metabolism.
  • Cushing's syndrome is caused by a pituitary tumor leading to excessive production of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone). Excessive ACTH stimulates the adrenal cortex to produce high levels of glucocorticoids.
  • Myxedema results due to severe hypothyroidism. Myxedema is more common in women than in men. Myxedema can occur in the lower leg (pretibial myxedema) and behind the eyes (exophthalmos).
  • In Addison's disease, adrenal glands produce too little cortisol and often insufficient levels of aldosterone. It is also called adrenal insufficiency.
  • Addison's disease occurs in all age groups and affects both sexes. Addison's disease can be life-threatening. Hypoparathyroidism can occur with Addison's disease.
    Hence, correct answer is B.
