Inhaled air passes through tiny ducts from the bronchioles into elastic air sacs which are called alveoli.

Epiglottis is a flap that is made of elastic cartilage tissue covered with a mucous membrane and is attached to the entrance of the larynx.

Trachea (or windpipe) is a wide, hollow tube that connects the larynx to the bronchi of the lungs.
