Solution

The equatorial or tropical regions have high ocean salinity due to high evaporation.

The Bay of Bengal has higher ocean salinity as compared to the Arabian sea as it receives a larger amount of freshwater from the rivers.

In the polar regions, there is an influx of freshwater from melting ice caps. This coupled with the lesser extent of evaporation in these regions further reduces the ocean salinity.
