Sphincter is a cylinderical muscle that normally maintains constriction of a natural body passage or orifice and which relaxes as required by normal physiological functions.
Ileo-caecal sphincter is present at the junction of ileum and caecum to regulate the flow of undigested food into the large intestine.
Anus has two sphincters: internal (involuntary) and external (voluntary)
Pyloric sphincter is present between stomach and duodenum and regulates movement of food in this passage.
Lower oesophageal sphincter is also known as cardiac sphincter and is present between oesophagus and stomach and plays role in receptive relaxation.
