The Qutub Minar is one of the most famous monuments in India. Its construction started in the 12th century by the Delhi Sultanate ruler, Qutub-ud-din Aibak of the Ghulam dynasty and was completed by his successor, Illtutmish. It is located in Delhi.

Delhi is also home to a tomb of a notable Mughal emperor, Humayun. This tomb is one more notable example of the Mughal architecture. This was built by his wife, Hammeda Begum after his death.

The Red Fort is one of the most notable forts in India. It was built by Shah Jahan in 1638 AD.

The Bruhdeshwar Temple at Tanjavur was built by Rajaraja I of the Chola Dynasty around 1003 AD to 1010 AD.
