Toluene and phenol are separated by treatment with dil. NaOH.
Toluene and aniline are separated by the extraction with diI. HCl, aniline compound passes into the aqueous layer in the form of hydrochloride salt and recovered by neutralization.
o-Cresol and benzoic acid are separated by NaHCO3 solution. benzoic acid forms salt and is recovered after acidification.
DiethyI ether and chlorobenzene are separated by cone, H2SO4, which dissolves chlorobenzene and recovered from solution by dilution with H2O.
