1. U.S.A- High HD group
Explanation-
If the HDI of a country is above 0.8, it is said to be in the high HD group. Accordingly, U.S.A lies in this group.
2. India- Medium HD Group
Explanation-
If the HDI of a country lies between 0.5 and 0.8, then it is regarded under the medium HD group. Accordingly, India is in the medium HD group.
3. PQLI- 1979
Explanation-
PQLI was developed by Morris D. Morris in 1979 to measure the economic development of a country. It is based on three indicators, namely, literacy rate, infant mortality and life expectancy which indicate the overall welfare of the people of a country.
4. HDI- 1990
Explanation-
UNDP developed HDI in the year 1990 in order to measure the quality of human life across countries. Human Development Index is a tool that is used to measure a country’s social and economic development. It was first prepared under the guidance of Mahabub-Ul-Haq.
