When a sporophyte produces all similar spores, it is said to be homosporous. If it produces two different types of spores, it is said to be heterosporous. If the dominant stage of in the life cycle is a sporophyte, then the life cycle is said to be diplontic. If gametophyte is the dominant stage, the life cycle is said to be haplontic.
Oogamy is a type of reproduction where two morphologically different gametes are involved. the female gamete are immotile and larger than the motile male gametes.
