Solution

The correct option is D (i)-D,(ii)-C,(iii)-A,(iv)-B
Gold is does not react with atmospheric oxygen and is a stable metal.
Mercury is the only liquid metal at room temperature.
When sodium is dropped into water, it reacts vigorously with water and floats on it. During the reaction, there is a production of hydrogen gas, which makes it propel around the surface of water. This produces hydrogen gas and makes sound.
Metals generally have high tensile strength but zinc is an exception. Metals expand on heating. Increase in temperature is actually an increase in the vibration of the atoms that compose the metal, and this vibration forces the atoms slightly apart and hence there is an expansion of metal. Zinc is brittle below 100C because the distance between atoms in the crystal arrangement is very less. This restricts the movement of atoms on applying force.
