Hypogynous flowers- The ovary is superior since it is located at the tip of the thalamus and the other three whorls are placed below it. Eg., Hibiscus
Perigynous flowers - In such flowers, the ovary is located at the center of the thalamus and the other whorls are present on its rim. The ovary is half- inferior ovary and are seen in flowers like roses and plums.
Epigynous flowers- The ovaries are completely surrounded by the margins of the thalamus. Since they are placed below the other whorls, they are known as inferior ovaries. Flowers of guava and cucumbers are epigynous flowers.
