When a flower can be divided into two equal halves by a single vertical plane it is known to be bilaterally symmetrical. Such a flower showing bilateral symmetry is called a zygomorphic flower. Such flowers are called as zygomorphic flowers. Eg., Pea
Symmetry where any radial plane passing through the centre can divide the flower into equal halves is known as radial symmetry and flowers exhibiting radial symmetry are called actinomorphic flowers. Eg., Hibiscus
Flowers which don’t show any type of symmetry are assymetric flowers. Eg., Canna.
