Given,
Number of pages in Mathematics textbook for class VI = 320

The chapter 'symmetry' runs from page 261 to page 272.

$∴$ Number of pages of chapter 'symmetry' = (272 - 261) + 1 = 11 + 1 = 12 (+1 because both the page no. 261 and 272 are counted)

Alternatively we can calculate number of pages = 272 - 260=12

Ratio of the number of pages of chapter 'symmetry' to the total number of pages

= $\frac{N u m b e r o f p a g e s i n s y m m e t r y c h a p t e r}{T o t a l n u m b e r o f p a g e s}$

= $\frac{12}{320}$
