Solution

The correct option is A No nucleus
RBCs are produced in the bone marrow with a nucleus. Hence, immature RBC has nucleus. However, the mature RBC lacks nucleus due to the process of enucleation. Enucleation removes nucleus from RBC at maturity. Due to lack of nucleus, mature RBC lacks DNA and hence does not take part in the DNA replication. Due to lack of nucleus, RBC can carry more haemoglobin in it. Also absence of nucleus gives RBC its biconcave shape. This helps in the easy diffusion through small capillaries.
Thus, the correct answer is option C.
