Solution

The correct option is B mitochondria
Aerobic respiration of glucose involves 4 steps.
1. Glycolysis which takes place in the cytoplasm and involves conversion of glucose into pyruvate. This process do not need oxygen and hence is neither aerobic or anaerobic.
2. Pyruvate oxidation which takes place in thr mitochondrial matrix and involves conversion of pyruvate into acetyl coA.
3. Krebs Cycle which takes place in the mitochondria. This process produces ATP and high energy molecules. These high energy molecules enter the next step.
4. Electron transfer chain which takes place in the mitochondria and generate most of the energy output from the oxidation of glucose as ATP.
