Find the median of the given data.
Arrange the data in ascending order $17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27$
Number of observations $= 8$
For the given data, $n$ is an even number. (Here, $n$ is total number of observations)
When $n$ is even, then median $= \frac{(\frac{n}{2}) t h o b s e r v a t i o n + (\frac{n}{2} + 1) t h o b s e r v a t i o n}{2}$
$= \frac{4 t h o b s e r v a t i o n + 5 t h o b s e r v a t i o n}{2} = \frac{20 + 21}{2} = \frac{41}{2} = 20.5$
Hence, the median is $20.5$
