"Megasporangium" is a technical term given to an ovule, which contains nucellus, integuments and funiculus through which it is adhered to the placenta. Integuments cover an opening called the micropyle, through which pollen tube enters the ovule during fertilisation. The region of attachment of nucellus, integuments and funiculus which is opposite to micropylar pole is called the chalaza. The body of ovule is attached to funiculus by a structure called hilum.
