Solution
Dear student,
Melting point is highest for primary amides. Highest melting point for primary amides are attributed to the strongest intermolecular H-bonding. Intermolecular H-bonding is less in secondary amides and no intermolecular H-bonding in tertiary amides. Intermolecular H-bonding in primary amides are stronger than amines because in primary amides both >CO and -NH2 groups are involve in H-bonding.
