Solution

The correct option is D

Garden Pea

Gregor Mendel conducted hybridisation experiments on garden Pea (Pisum sativum). This plant belongs to the family Fabaceae. The pea plant was an ideal model for his experiments as he could analyse as many as seven different characters and study the inheritance pattern. Pea plants are self fertilising but can be easily cross-pollinated which was an advantage for his hybridisation experiments.
