  • Mendel's law of dominance states that in a cross the dominant allele will mask the expression of the recessive allele.
  • The recessive allele will be present but it will not express itself. Hence in a monohybrid cross between homozygous dominant and homozygous recessive the progenies of F1 generation will express dominant traits but the recessive traits will not be seen.
  • However, the recessive trait will express in the F2 generation.
