Mendel’s second law is also known as law of ___.
segregation
Mendel’s second law of inheritance is also called as law of segregation. This law states that although the parents contain two alleles during gamete formation, the factors or alleles of a pair segregate from each other such that a gamete receives only one of the two factors.
The law of dominance states that characters are controlled by discrete units called factors. Factors occur in pairs. In a dissimilar pair of factors one member of the pair dominates (dominant) the other (recessive).
The law of incomplete dominance is at play when no particular trait completely suppresses the other, but both the traits or factors in a genotype are expressed partially.
Codominance is when the factors or genes responsible for two isotypes of a protein are both expressed in an organism. Here too one factor does not dominate or suppress the other factor, but they are equivalently dominant.
