Some functions of blood are:
1. It transports nutrients from the alimentary canal to tissues.
2. It transports oxygen from the lungs to the tissues.
3. It transports nitrogenous waste materials from the tissues to the kidney, liver and skin.
4. It regulates body temperature by the distribution of heat.
5. Fluid part of blood called plasma transports digested food molecules, carbon dioxide and waste molecules in dissolved form.
