The Shiromani Akali Dal was constituted on 14 Dec, 1920.The Akali Jathas started with the work of getting the Gurudwaras vacated from the licentious Mahantas. The Akali Dal was purely religious in nature and got recognition as a political party. It's policies are as follows:

1) Establishment of the true federal structure.

2) Immediate solution of true important matters.

3) Economic programme sand reform in labour law.
