Different types of fossil fuels:
Coal: Coal is a mixture of compounds of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and a small amount of nitrogen and sulfur.
Petroleum: Petroleum is liquid fossil fuel made of hydrocarbons.
Natural gas: Natural gas is smokeless fuel and causes no pollution and leaves no residue after burning, the main component of natural gas is methane.
Thus, coal, petroleum, and natural gas are the main fossil fuels that we use today.
