Open in App
Solution

Nitrification: This is the step in the process of nitrogen fixation. The ammonia is converted to nitrates and then eventually to nitrites. The conversion is performed by the bacteria of the species Nitrosomonas.
Denitrification: This is the process which is the last step of nitrogen cycle. The nitrates are converted back to atmospheric nitrogen. This conversion is performed by the bacteria Pseudomonas.
