Light reaction includes the trapping of energy by chlorophyll, and this energy is used in splitting water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen (photolysis) and in producing ATP.Dark reaction involves the transfer of hydrogen from NADPH through a series of chemical reaction, to combine with CO2 to produce $C_6H_{12}O_6$ by using energy from ATP.
