Ozone is a highly reactive gas that is made of three oxygen atoms and is found in the upper Stratosphere, which is about 11-16 kilometers above the Earth’s surface.

Use of ozone :

1. The ozone surrounds the earth's atmosphere and thus acts as a shield by absorbing the harmful ultraviolet radiations of the sunlight to protect the living organisms from the harmful effects of UV rays. UV rays directly cause skin cancer and the ozone layer prevents it.
2. Ozone is an important disinfectant and insecticide.
3. Ozone serves as an important catalyst in various industrial processes.
