Dear student Important food crops are rice, wheat and maize. Rice is grown in a hot and humid climate with plenty of rainfall. The soil required is fertile alluvial soil. Wheat is grown in areas with milder climate and lower rainfall. Maize is grown in dry regions as it does not require much water. An important cash crop is cotton. Cotton is grown in regions with black soil. It requires a warm and moist climate where summer is long and where there is salinity in the soil. Regards
