Solution

Excretory waste

Excretory wastes are substances produced as a byproduct of the organism. These waste materials are required to be removed from the body and the process to remove these substances is called excretion. There are various types of excretory materials produced by the body of any animal. For example:

Non-nitrogenous waste - These do not contain nitrogen compounds and are further divided as:

  1. Gaseous waste - carbon dioxide is a major gaseous waste
  2. Liquid waste - excess amount of water.
  3. Solid waste - undigested food, fibers, and more.

Nitrogenous waste - These wastes contain an excessive amount of nitrogen produced as metabolic waste.

Removal of excretory wastes:

  1. Gaseous waste - from lungs and respiratory tract.
  2. Liquid waste - through the excretory system by kidney
  3. Solid waste - intestine and elementary canal
  4. Nitrogenous waste - through the excretory system by filtration.
