Question

mention the fate of corpus luteum and its affect on uterus in absence of fertilisation of ovum?

Open in App
Solution

Each month the ova is released from the ovary. If the sperm enters the female body, the ova is fertilised by the incoming sperm and corpus luteum secretes progesterone that maintains the pregnancy. But if the sperm does not enter the female body, the ova is converted into corpus luteum and gets degenerated after some time.
